How To Enter In Three Easy Steps
1. When you sign up, immediately name the file your scene will be in.
Save the order number. It will be on the confirmation
screen and it will also be sent by email automatically from the
shopping cart. If you lose it, contact us immediately at customer.service@creativescreenwriting.com
Using the order number and your name, name the file like this:
- ordernumber.yourfirstname.yourlastname.doc if it is a Microsoft Word 97-2003 file
- ordernumber.yourfirstname.yourlastname.docx if it is a Microsoft Word 2007 file
- ordernumber.yourfirstname.yourlastname.pdf if it is a PDF file
No other file formats are allowed.
TIP: The
order number and your first and last name are the file name you will
submit. So create them when you sign up, not when you start to
write (and definitely not as the deadline arrives!).
2. Create
your cover page right away when you sign up. The
cover page must have your name(s), the address and email address (very
important!) of one writer, and the order number
on it. If you wait, you risk losing the order number and you will
be taking up valuable contest writing time doing this simple chore.
Why have the order number in both the file name and on the cover page? Because some people forget.
3. Know where to submit. When you receive the premise at this page
or at any time thereafter, take down the email address(es) you are told
to submit to. Then, before the deadline, send your completed
scene as an email attachment to the designated address(es).
Reminder: your submission must be in standard Hollywood script format,
no fewer than three, and no more than five pages. Creative
Screenwriting and the contest do not endorse any particular way to
learn script format except our own DVDs.,
which are on sale for $14.97 each. However, Coverage Ink, which
manages the contest for Creative Screenwriting, sells an 80-page "Coverage Ink Spec Format & Style Guide" for only $3.95 in PDF format. Email info@coverageink.com to request a copy.
