We
reserve the right, to extend the deadline for entry in the 2010
AAA Screenplay Contest beyond the "One Last Rewrite" deadline of April 11,
2010
However...
This is not a promise of an extension.
It is "If." You run the risk of missing a chance to enter
if you do not enter by the "One Last Rewrite" deadline.
In addition, any such accommodation for late entries will come at a
price: an entry fee at least $10 higher than the "One Last
Rewrite" deadline.
Late
entry carries the penalty of a
higher cost for a number of reasons. Late entries put stress on
our contest management and make it necessary to seek additional
judges to read late scripts. In addition, the higher entry fee is
intended to be a teaching tool.
Screenwriting
doesn't always have deadlines, but some screenwriting (such as writing
for TV or rewriting a feature) usually does have strict deadlines. Therefore, being on
time is a professional discipline you need to develop
if you
are going to break in.
So please -- submit on time.
Those who plan ahead or
burn
the midnight oil to enter on time will be rewarded by much

Deadline Note on submission of scripts by U.S. mail:
Because the deadline falls
on a Sunday, we will accept scripts postmarked Monday.
If you are mailing a script, please send it with the entry fee
applicable to the Sunday entry date. So for mailed submissions, the
April 11 deadline extends through your last chance to get it postmarked
April 12. For the April 25 deadline, the postmark deadline is when
your P.O. closes April 26.
