SPRING - SUMMER
2008 CONTEST
From The
Desk Of The Publisher:
An Important Note
About
Deadlines
and Extensions
In the past, the Creative
Screenwriting contest managers posted deadlines, but extended them at the last
minute.
This practice rewarded those
who were chronically late or knew how to
game the system. It effectively punished everyone who took
the deadlines
seriously and entered on time.
Screenwriting
doesn't always have deadlines, but some screenwriting (such as writing
for TV or rewriting a feature) usually does. So being on
time is a professional discipline you need to develop
if you
are going to break in.
Deadlines To Be Enforced: Any
Extensions Will Be At Higher Prices
We're changing the way we run
our contests and enforce deadlines.
We will strictly observe deadlines.
We
DO reserve the right to extend the final deadline.
We DO NOT promise to do so. If we extend, late
entrants will pay at least $10 more than
a "One last rewrite" submission.
We promise that if
you submit
by a declared deadline, you will be rewarded by both the certainty that
your entry is in, and a better price than those who are late.
So please: submit on time.
Those who plan ahead or
burn
the midnight oil to enter on time will be rewarded by much
better prices and greater certainty. To view the deadlines
and prices, click HERE.
