$100 PRIZE(S) FOR THE BEST SCRIPT OPENING(S)

"BEST OPENING" SUBMISSION DEADLINE WAS
Midnight December 31, 2009

(The contest is open.  Enter  at left or see the bottom of this page)

Do you have a ready-to-go script or scripts lying around with a great opening?

Submit them now to the AAA Screenplay Contest sponsored by Creative Screenwriting,  and you could win an instant extra $100 prize ...

...And get noticed for the bigger prizes.

Here's the deal: we'll award one $100 "Best Opening Among Contest Openers" for each 100 scripts submitted in the first few weeks of the contest (If fewer than 100 are submitted, we'll award one prize.)  You may submit as many scripts as you wish, paying the entry fee for each.  Each early submission will qualify for one of these prizes.

We'll read the first five pages of each script that meets the deadline.  If two scripts seem about equal after five, we'll make the final determination from the first 10 pages.

Why should you submit at least one script early?

#1.  It's a good discipline.  You have to commit to finishing in order to submit.

#2.  It's good for you.  With that script already in the competition, you'll have time to polish your next script for the contest deadline (or someone else's contest, or to send to agents) and increase your chance of success.

#3.  It may improve your chances of winning.  Being noticed for a great opening means your script stands out from the crowd at the very start.

    #4.  $100 prize--easy money for someone.

#5.  Save money!  The entry fee is 18% lower for early submission than it is for the "1 last rewrite" deadline.

You'll have four chances to win money  if you submit now:

    1. Grand Prize, $7,500.
    2. Second Prize, $2,500.
    3. Third Prize, $1,000
    4. "Best opening" prizes, $100 each.

So submit the script with your most effective opening pages, get into the competition for this early-early-early-bird prize, and give yourself time to complete and polish another script before deadline.
